THE BUSINESS OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE
Vietnamese businesses are being advised by the Vietnam’s Trade Office in Spain to grasp a new trend to increase exports to Spain. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the consumption habits of Spaniards with a greater interest emerging in products related to strengthening their health. This could benefit Vietnamese seafood enterprises. Though there may be challenges to fully meet EU technical standards on food safety and hygiene the opportunity in the Spanish market is said to be significant. Statistics from the General Department of Customs in Vietnam showed that, in the first seven months of this year, Vietnam’s exports to the Spanish market reached
USD 1.3 billion, an increase of 14.78 % compared to the same period last year.
