UZBEKISTAN: Trade Deal with Pakistan Planned

Following a visit to Uzbekistan in July this year, online talks have been held between the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Abdul Razak Dawood, and Sardor Umurzakov, the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, to discuss the implementation of a trade agreement. The aim is to deepen trade relations in economic, industrial, banking and investment areas and strengthen transport and logistics cooperation. They also discussed the preparations for signing a preferential trade treaty. They agreed to outline a “road map” for the implementation of the trade and transit agreement signed in July.
