Ukraine Proposes Duty Exemptions For Energy Equipment

Ukraine has drafted two laws that propose to exempt equipment for the construction and restoration of various types of energy generation from VAT and import duties. The sectors that would benefit from these laws are wind, solar, hydro, thermal, and gas power plants, as well as energy storage systems. In addition there is a proposal to suspend customs charges for goods imported under specific contracts with the Secretariat of the Energy Community. The exemptions would be temporary during the period of martial law in Ukraine, but no longer than 31 December 2025.
