USA Tops Dominican Republic’s Exports Market

The United States has been named as the Dominican Republic’s first trading partner according to data published by the Dominican Republic’s Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana). Total exports reached US$3,745.34 million in the first four months of 2021, of which over 50% goes to the USA, with the next biggest markets, Switzerland and in 3rd place Haiti each at around 8% of the total export figures. Though the top exported product is gold (US$573.27 million), the export of tobacco (or cigars) with of the total US$344.48 million corresponds is in second place.
