UAE: Free Zone Support for Women Entrepreneurs

Masdar City Free Zone (MCFZ) located in Abu Dhabi has introduced a new business package exclusively for all women entrepreneurs, to further support the growth of women-led companies in the UAE. The announcement was made before the Emirati Women’s Day on 28 August, which for 2021 was themed, ‘Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for Next 50 Years,’ in line with the UAE’s “Year of the 50th”. Earlier this year MCFZ launched new licence options to support Abu Dhabi business growth for new and existing companies based in Masdar City, the region’s hub for innovative sustainable technologies.

As well as constituting approximately 70% of university graduates, Masara Alameiri, Acting Director, Masdar City Free Zone, said: “women are key drivers of the ground-breaking progress being made here in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), clean energy, healthtech, food security, mobility, water, and sustainable urban development”.
